Paula Fay was a surprise inside Kristin and Eric's first mystery bundled of peony roots.Because the root wan't labeled, the following Spring, Paula Fay bloomed for the first time. It was a peony unlike anything they had seen.
Paula Fay has lectric pink, tissue-thin petals open wide in a semi-double bloom. Kristin’s aunt gave her a nickname on the spot: the papier-mâché peony.
In early-season, her petals fade gradually from that electric intensity to a softer pink, with a distinctive yellow center that ties the whole composition together.
