The Fall 2025 The Peony Story Collection for the Peony Story Experience Gift was thoughtfully curated by Kristin and Eric to include classic garden favorites and a few unique varieties we think they’ll love! These peonies are also the same varieties we will plant in Adoration Peony garden this fall.
The roots in this collection stories started long ago, on a family farm in the midwest that’s been growing peonies for a half a century.
Each gift includes a premium USDA inspected 3 - 5 eye bare root, freshly dug and divided to start a new chapter in a garden this fall. Root sizes and shapes are not uniform, but they will all have 3-5 eyes.

Peony Root Collection Fall 2025
Monsieur Jules Elie
They call this peony iconic for a reason. This French heirloom peony isn’t shy about showing off its pastel pink petals arranged in a grand “bomb style” shape. Its exquisite, sweet perfume makes it among the most fragrant peonies, delighting you mid-peony season each May/June.
The showy blooms open to 6 - 7” in diameter. Its lush foliage reaches a height of 34–36” and a width of 30–36”.

Bridal Shower
When your gym teacher marries your English teacher, this is their peony of choice.
Its bloom is the laughter of a couple unashamed to show the world pure love. Its petals are a dance - they twirl in the breeze like the twirl of the dress. They fall into the arms of the one they have chosen, and with a sigh they say, “I’ll love you for a lifetime”. And in the case of a peony that can bloom for 100 years, “Bridal Shower” couldn’t be more fitting!

Honor is one of the earliest peonies to bloom during peony season. Make the magic of peony season last longer by pairing it with mid-to-late season varieties.
When the whimsical single petals bloom, they open 4–6 inches in diameter and offer a pleasantly subtle fragrance. The dark foliage is tidy and compact and reaches a height of 30–34”.
Duchesse De Nemours
This luminous angel in white with a hint of lemon makes her entrance mid-peony season. The Duchesse’s full double blooms are known to grace wedding bouquets, mark the remembrance of loved ones, and celebrate new life in the world.
The petals of this luxurious bloom gather like silk, spanning 6–7 inches in diameter, with an enchanting fragrance that bubbles like a champagne toast.

Kansas
Don’t let the unassuming midwestern name fool you! Kansas is the princess peony of the prairie in ruby red slippers.
Kansas is an American Peony Society Gold Medal winner, famous for its ruffled, double blooms in vibrant shades of pink and red. It’s a great pick for anyone sensitive to strong fragrances, as it has very little to no scent.
